The Note

Updated: Mar 29, 2023

Steve had always been a driven individual, fueled by ambition and a desire for success. As an investment banker, he had made a name for himself in the industry, quickly rising through the ranks and accumulating wealth along the way. But his success had come at a cost.

Steve had become a workaholic, dedicating all of his time and energy to his career. He had no time for anything else but work, except for his passion for his silver Ferrari 550 Maranello. Every day he would drive it to work, park it on his assigned spot and head to the 37th floor of the office building.

Despite his busy schedule, Steve had always made time for his Ferrari. He would wash and wax it every weekend, taking care of it as if it were a member of his family. He loved the sleek, silver curves of the car, the way it hugged the road and purred like a contented cat. It was the one thing in his life that brought him pure, unadulterated joy.

One day in October, after a long day of work, Steve returned to his car to find a note on the windshield. The note was from a girl named Isabelle who thought he was handsome and wanted to meet him. But there was no phone number or any other way to contact her. Steve was curious but didn't know what to do. He wondered how she had even known his name, let alone his car.

Days passed and Steve found more notes on his Ferrari, always from Isabelle. They were playful and flirtatious, hinting at a growing attraction between them. Steve found himself looking forward to these notes, eager to see what she would write next. He started to feel a sense of excitement and anticipation that he hadn't experienced in a long time.

He decided to leave a note on his car, asking her to meet him. The next day, he found another note from her with a time and a place to meet: the lobby restaurant. Steve was excited and nervous at the same time. He had never met anyone this way before, and he wasn't sure what to expect. But he couldn't resist the thrill of the unknown.

On the day of the meeting, Steve arrived at the restaurant, hoping to finally meet Isabelle. He was early, so he sat at the bar and ordered a drink. But as the time passed, he started to doubt if she would show up. Maybe it was all just a prank or a game. He felt a knot in his stomach, wondering if he had made a mistake.

Just as he was about to leave, he saw a woman walking towards him. It was Isabelle, and she was even more beautiful than he imagined. She had long, curly hair that bounced as she walked, and a smile that lit up the room. Steve felt a rush of adrenaline as she approached him, realizing that this was the moment he had been waiting for.

They sat down and started talking. Steve was surprised at how easy it was to talk to her, and how much they had in common. They shared their love for fast cars, Italian cuisine, and traveling. Isabelle was a freelance travel writer, and Steve was fascinated by her stories of exotic destinations and foreign cultures. He had never met anyone who lived such a adventurous life.

As they finished their dinner, Isabelle asked Steve if he wanted to go for a drive in his Ferrari. Steve was hesitant at first, but then he thought, "why not?" He had always wanted to share his car with someone who appreciated it as much as he did. They went for a ride along the highway, feeling the wind in their hair and the adrenaline pumping through their veins.

As they drove, Steve couldn't believe how lucky he was. He had always put his career above everything else, but meeting Isabelle had reminded him that there was more to life than just work. He realized that he had been missing out on the simple pleasures of life, like enjoying a beautiful sunset or exploring new places. Isabelle had sparked a new sense of adventure and excitement in him, and he knew that he wanted to spend more time with her.

From that day on, Steve made a conscious effort to balance his work and personal life. He continued to excel in his career, but he also made time for the things that truly mattered to him, like spending time with Isabelle and exploring the world around him. He realized that success wasn't just about money and status, but also about finding joy and fulfillment in life. And with Isabelle by his side, and his Ferrari he knew that he had found his true happiness.
